ABOUT US

FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED

Carpenter Dirt Work has been family-owned and family-operated for three generations of Carpenters. Our clients appreciate that when they call Carpenter they’ll speak with a Carpenter and will be treated like family. That will never change.

RAYFORD CARPENTER…

First generation Carpenter Dirt Work founder/owner Rayford Carpenter started out in the dairy business in Stephenville, Texas. In the course of the dairy operation Rayford would excavate various projects around the farm. In those days, the local cafe was the gathering place for morning coffee with fellow farmers. When his friends heard he had heavy equipment that he was using to excavate roads on his farm, they began to ask if he could do the same for their farms.

He said yes…and Carpenter Dirt Work was born.

Rick Carpenter…

The second generation Carpenter Dirt Work owner began working with his father Rayford on the family dairy farm at a very young age. Rick Carpenter was 10 when he started operating bulldozers and loaders. Rick and his wife Debbie married and spent their newly wed years in New Mexico where Rick built oil field locations. Once the oil field business dried up, Rick and Debbie moved back to Stephenville and partnered with his father in the dirt business.

The second generation of Carpenters began to grow the business to the next level.

Brent CARPENTER…

Brent Carpenter fell in love with dirt nearly as soon as he learned to walk. He would spend his free time up at office moving dirt piles around the materials yard a the age of 10. Upon graduating from high school, Brent knew what he wanted to do…work full-time with his father, Rick, in the family dirt business. The years that have followed since that life decision Brent made have seen Carpenter Dirt Work grow and expand into 100’s of completed commercial and residential project opportunities.

Brent is now the third generation Carpenter Dirt Work owner and is raising what could be the next generation to lead the family business.

ERIC STONE…

His last name may not be Carpenter but Eric is as close as a son and brother could be in the Carpenter family. Brent and Eric have been best buds since before either of them could walk. They attended school together, played on the same football teams together, and now work together taking Carpenter Dirt Work into its 6th decade in the excavation business. Rick puts it this way, “Eric is like a son to us. He’s one of the best operators that there is.”

Brent and Eric are an inseparable team who are taking Carpenter Dirt Work far beyond anything Grandfather Rayford could have imagined 50 years ago on the family dairy farm.

And so it continues.
